Females @ Harvard....

The Ace Is Back: I really hope you apply to Brown or UMiami or some school in Cali where girls are hot. Please don't come to Harvard. Thank you.

Ace I don't mind your talking, it's just that apparently no one is taking you seriously. I noticed that you make premature conclusions regarding things beyond your competence and personal experience around these boards. That only makes YOU seem pathetic and we are all trying to show it to you in some way. I just wanted to give you an advice because I thought you might need it. People usually respect other people's opinion when it is grounded on facts and observation. Your opinion is grounded on assumptions and rumours. You should be aware that your immaturity and disrespect won't take you anywhere.

And since this is such a waste of time, I just want to tell you that I agree with cncm - please don't come to Harvard

Where do all these spiteful attacks on The Ace is Back come from? As a college applicant it's almost a duty to ask trivial but nonetheless purposeful questions like for instance, about the "hotness" of girls at that specific college. A habit that not even prospective Harvard students are unfamiliar of. So all of you self-proclaimed moralists could chillax and leave the few sophisticated individuals that enjoys to view essential female attributes from a purely aesthetic perspective, alone. And who don't want to end up jerk*** off to Einsteins theory of relativity in case they get in.

cncm and katerila - have all prospective/current Harvard undergraduates forgotten what it's like to be human beings?

2468 - try harder.

coureur - Ouch. Actually the reason I'm arguing about it 'at great length' is because:

a) I get the sense people are lying to me (notably those in some way connected to Harvard)
b) I get the sense people on these boards are so PC they are scared to admit that they do in fact notice looks and that it is in fact possible to tell if someone is ugly/not.

I go to an 'elite' institution as well, but that is not to say that I cannot see the faults in it (notably that most people here are lazy bums and that despite charging the highest fees in the country we do not rate first academically). People at Harvard and those with vested interests should learn that admitting Harvard's faults can only make the place more appealing - it introduces the element of honesty.

Corporatefinance - you legend.

Want to see a really ugly student body? Visit Brandeis.

You shouldn't have to be told that Boston will harbor many attractive females.

And Harvard girls are pretty awesome regardless of their looks (though the ones I've seen didn't have problems in the looks department). Where else are you going to find girls this smart?!

Coureur is a parent upset about their kid being objectified. Overreacting? Maybe, but understandably. Would you ask a parent you barely knew whether their daughter is hot?

CollegeConfidential is a really horrible place to ask this question. First of all, standards of beauty clearly differ among people... what will one random person's opinion give you? Second, everyone here has some sort of bias (my girlfriend is a Harvard student, for example)... You're not going to get much objectivity from a parent. Third, what's most relevant to you, by far, is the attractiveness of girls in your class, and even if that could at some point be determined... the class is not yet determined.

Unlike some of the other posters here, I don't fault you for being curious about whether you'll find attractive people here. But the way to find out is to come and visit, or get access to Harvard facebook, not post online.

I agree about facebook, justforgetme. Gives you a really good idea of how most students look.

wow, no idea this thread would turn into something like this, it was originally just a question asked by a bored gentleman who will be in cambridge next fall, sorry....

I cannot believe you people are actually discussing this. You are talking about HARVARD for God's sake. I would understand if you were obsessing about which community college to attend, but Harvard should not be about HOT OR NOT girls. I mean it's HARVARD !! If any of you do not like Harvard girls, there are always girls OUT of campus. Sorry to say this, but this is kind of pathetic and immature.

everyone knows Harvard is Harvard, everyone knows what their first priority at Harvard SHOULD be, but honestly please stop crying about the merits of this discussion, any topic on this forum regarding Harvard is valid as outlined by the admins., let people be people and have a LITTLE fun...

Hear hear old boy!

haha this is the most hilarious thread i have ever seen.

dear god, how many times does the poor boy have to say he's not basing his decision on the hotness of the girls at Harvard?

it was just a question. If we're not allowed to talk about trivial stuff like this on here, then I guess I believe the rumors about harvard's pretentiousness.

I can only assume the guys on this thread have never met a girl. Because I've certainly never encoutered a girl who wouldn't get ****ed off if she and her friends were consistently dismissed as ugly for no good reason.

You're not just discussing it, you clearly believe it at least in part, and by repeating it ad nauseum you're perpetuating an insulting, baseless stereotype.

It's also a stupid debate because you can never prove it, only throw around bigotted stereotypes.

I reckon this whole thing is a spin off of social preconceptions regarding women, which vilify women who exceed their 'place' - you know, if she's clever she must be ugly or a b*tch (probably both), if she's good at sports she must be a lesbian, and even if she's got a good career she's a bad mother.

Grow up :)

...oh and, replace females with Jews, blacks, Muslims...wouldn't be seen as appropriate, would it?

UKRUS, ilovecalifornia, why do you have to go so lofty on just talking about girls!? Guys talk about girls all the time. It's no different from talking about weather or classes or a tv show. Jeez. I guess a lot of people at Harvard are uptight, which is what I heard from one of the students.

Some might be uptight some might not be. Everywhere you go is going to have some good looking girls, and some not so good looking. Plus if your going to Harvard, which is in/near Boston, a huge city. If you can't find anyone on campus, go off campus to one of the biggest city in the US, and you'll find someone. Just my 2 cents.

Gaucho-- I respect your sentiment, but you come across as a little too intense. Comments such as yours are what contribute to people's false stereotype of Harvard that everyone here is really unfun/unattractive/overly intense.

If you expect to come to Harvard and immerse yourself in intellectualism only, to spend your waking hours nursing discussions of poetry and feats of science, you will be sadly disappointed.

At Harvard, there are a lot of shallow people. It is a curious phenomenon--Very smart nonintellectuals--but they are vital to campus life. Sometimes Harvard students need a break. Sometimes we want to talk about whether or not a person is hot or other shallow stuff.

And that is part of what is wonderful about coming to Harvard--I can have conversations with my roommates where we're talking about a famous piece of Turkish art and then the next moment we're talking about horrible bubblegum pop songs we love.

This keeps Harvard students down-to-earth. And hopefully, when we graduate then, we won't appear to be prisoners of the Ivory Tower who've just been set free, lost and confused outside of their bastions of elitism.

oh and ps, the girls at harvard are a lot hotter than the guys. ; -)

question, how can any of you people tell others who is hot and whos not, isn't it to each its own.... but yeah if asian girls are at harvard then they're hot,...cuz asian girls are jus hot in general.... to me
