Hello everyone,
I recently spoke to a friend who is pursuing ibanking when he finishes his undergrad at Stanford. He explained to me the high stress nature of the job and the many risks involved. He also told me that women (esp. minority females in my case) are rare. I feel as though I have the skills necessary but the fact that it is SO male-dominated is quite intimidating.
I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or experiences dealing with this concern?

it is true that the field is predominately male but their are females in high ranks. i have met a few women that manage a group of men and they all give respect.

going through the hiring process, some firms do recommend diversity but you never know when your interviewer might be bias. it's going to happen and you just have to face it.

Being a female minority is actually most often an advantage in the hiring process. Once you get in the door, it doesn't matter, you are just another employee. Perform and you will be rewarded. My HS friend's aunt is a successful VP at Morgan Stanley, and guess what, she's a female minority.

Thanks for the thoughts. For some reason, I was under the impression that there is alot of bias in the field. I guess I'll just do my best and see wht happens.
