I was wondering how does the fencing recruitment work. I am a B16 and around 100 in the junior points currently (and expecting it to rise once the competitions start). I was once top 40 in cadet and fenced once for the USA at Pisa, Italy. I am an incoming senior with a 3.7 GPA and a 35 on the ACT with writing. I have already talked to coaches before at Summer Nationals, but I am still very confused on how I can get recruited. Should I ask the coaches if I can be on their team, or just send in my application info, such as essays and such, to them so they can help push my application through? I have talked to UNC, NYU, and UCSD, but I am not sure if I should ask more coaches or if I have a chance in getting recruited. I know I may be late, but I really want to know. Thank you very much. Also, I do not know why it’s putting me in Nepal. I live in California.
