Has anyone out there lived in Fenwick hall before and can tell me a little about it? is it nice? what are the ups and downs of living there? is it desirable? i am completely cluesless.
Also, more specifically, i was put in a natural triple there (which kind of surprised me because i requested a double). I looked up the floor plan and im in one of the triples in the far corner. Has anyone ever lived in a triple in Fenwick? (or even a triple in general) because i really wasnt anticipating living in a triple and i dont know what to expect. Thanks!

Our son was in a natural triple last year as a freshman. A natural triple provided plenty of room for all the boys (much better than a forced triple). Loved it–being on upper campus near class buildings, gym, and all athletic events was great. Did not have to worry about catching rides to/from other areas to get to main campus. He cannot wait to get back to Boston, BC, and his friends.

I’m in a triple in the farrr corner pretty much away from everyone and everything. Pretty nervous about making friends on my hall…

I lived in Fenwick back in '75-'76. When I was there, it was white guys on the first floor, black males on the second floor, and black females on the third floor. It sounded crazy even back then, but it was the '70s there were lots of misguided attempts to build ethnic pride.

In the most extreme northwest corner of the 1st floor, there was a fairly large room where a Jesuit lived. My roommate and I lived in the room right next to him. If you have the Jesuit’s old room, it should be fine for 3 people. If you have my old room, it’s gonna be a little snug with 3 people.

Don’t worry AT ALL about meeting people in your dorm.

Fenwick is part of the dorms known as “CLXF”, which are four separate dorms but all connected, though this isn’t really shown on the floor plans. So check one more time to see where your triple is, comparing it to the floor plan of Xavier. If you’re in 152, 154, 255, 257, 355, or 357 then you’re not really at the end of a hallway, you’re more like in the middle, between Fenwick and Xavier, and will actually be in the middle of everything. Those rooms are made up of one large room and are very nice- as well as (if you want it to be) natural hang-out places because they’re larger. Get excited… I think you’ll like it!

Apparently one of my literature classes is in Fenwick…how is this possible?

This year, since Gasson Hall is closed due to renovation, a number of classes will be in different dorm lounges around campus. This past spring semester they had a few writing classes in Gonzaga and Keyes and found it worked really well so they are expanding it for this upcoming year. I’m not sure if they plan on continuing to do it once Gasson reopens.
