What is this? I'm completely confused.

Does anyone know? It’s there when you start to send apps out to your rec’s.

First off, I am not a lawyer, so if you want the full skinny on this definitely seek out a professional. That said, here’s a laymen’s definition…

“FERPA” refers to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act. One part of the act allows applicants who apply to higher education institution the right to view materials submitted by third parties on their behalf as part of the application process. This only applies to the institution where you enroll and only applies if that institution keeps those records. Some colleges keep old application materials, some do not.

This is probably the most widely misunderstood part of the application process. You can read the actual code here: [US CODE: Title 20,1232g. Family educational and privacy rights](20 U.S. Code § 1232g - Family educational and privacy rights | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute)

I don’t understand which is best for me to select as I notice some schools I’m applying to keep records and some don’t. I’ve been stuck on this part for about 2 days now. What do everyone choose?

Thanks for the link, I will read into it.

Wow, can anyone at all tell me what they usually select, or what is meant to be picked? I really would like to send the form out to my rec’s as they were expecting it a few days ago.
