Few questions about admission

Hi, I'm currently a junior in high school and I just happen to have a few questions.

If I want to apply for early action, when is the best time to start my application? Should I start during the summer or during my senior year?

I see that I'll have to get 2 teacher recommendations (science and humanities). I'm a bit confused about this part. Am I allowed to select which teachers I want to write my recommendation? I'm not sure they're referring to teachers that I have right now or teachers that I'll have during my senior year.

For my recommendations I'm thinking of selecting my AP English teacher (for humanities) and my AP Computer Science teacher (for science). Do those choices fit the requirements for the application?

Thank you for your time. :)

1) If you have time, start over the summer because you will have less available time during the school year.

2) You are allowed to select them. I wouldn’t recommend choosing senior year teachers because they won’t truly know you very well before writing their recommendations.

3) Definitely.

Thank you :)

Here’s a quick question. If I waive my right to review my recommendations, should I have my teachers put them in signed envelopes?

When I asked teachers for recommendations, I gave them a bunch of addressed, stamped envelopes and then offered to pick them up after they were done writing the recs and drop them in the mail. My teachers took the envelopes, wrote the letters, sealed the letters, and put them in the mail, and this worked out well.

If by signing you mean the whole thing where they sign across the seal, I don’t think it matters. One of my teachers did, and one of them didn’t. If they have any reason to doubt the recommendation’s authenticity I think they’ll try to contact your teacher.
