How is Rice for a female interested in CS? Is the environment supportive?
Is it easy to get into classes? I hear that many schools are experiencing overcrowding as per this article

What kind of companies recruit at Rice? Is it mostly for positions in Texas or can you return to the coasts after graduating?

@surelyhuman - Regarding employment. My D just graduated in CS and she is currently in Seattle for Microsoft. Her Seattle roommates, both current Rice grads, are at Microsoft and Facebook. Three of her McMurtry suite mates are at Adobe in CA, Home Depot in Austin and a startup in Silicon Valley.
I have had three children take intro CS courses over the past five years and none have had scheduling issues.
