Few questions i have?

1) how many application fee waivers i can get. the Nacac website says that they recommend to use 4. does that mean i can use more!? i want to apply to something like 16 colleges. that might be crazy but its better than going to a bad school

2) should i use commonapp or should i apply directly?

4) do i have to tell my school counselor that i want to apply. or can i apply myself.?

5) can i request my transcribt from home?

6) what counts as "Extracurricular activites", to be honest. thats just stupid. most people are just doing it to get accepted in a college. not for the sake of volunteering and "helping the community".

7) will my first-quarter grade of senior year count or grades upto the point i apply?(we're about a month into the 2nd quarter when we apply).

are there other things i need to know!

1) You will have to go through your school counselor for all your fee waivers because, as I understand it, they sign off that you are qualified for it. Nacac recommends he give you 4 to use for the schools on the top of your list. You will have to talk to him to see how many he will give you. The rest you will have to pay for yourself.

16 applications is excessive. If you are strategic, you shouldn’t need that many.

2) doesn’t matter

4) see above #1

5) check with your school; we don’t know how they require you to make requests

6) EC’s can cover a variety of activities, not just volunteer work. Many people do volunteer; those who do may or may not have the best intentions but the community gets helped anyway. Too bad you are so cynical.

7) ask your school if transcripts contain the 1st quarter–sounds likely.

yes, you need to know about the number 3.

I agree with Brownparent; but:
2) I’d use commonapp, it’s easier to keep track of all your schools :)
