few things on campus

Please enlighten me.
For first year, is it really neccessary to buy a bike at UVA?
Should you also buy a lock for it?
How many people have their bike stolen or know somebody who did?
How many people sign up for UVA summer school?
When you sign up for summer school, do you live on campus?
If so, what is the dorm price?
Is financing major only offer for mcintire?
What do you think of a sony vaio for UVA next year?
This is what I can currently think of, a few more to come.

No.

Yes.

Yes.

Some.

About the same as it is during the year.

Yes.

It's fine. Any computer made by a major company is fine.

The econ department has a new finance concentration you might be interested in. This is not done through McIntire but in A&S just like other econ concentrations.

Concentration in Financial Economics

ps it's "grounds" here at uva not campus

you can find out most of the summer info on the summer site, virginia.edu/summer I believe

the only ppl i know who use bikes a lot are those people over in hereford/etc. but the buses do run regularly from those areas to the main class area so you really do not need a bike. everyone and their mom gets their bike stolen since police have better things to do here than patrol bike lots (like, giving out tickets) and those kids cut bike locks so unless youre really attached to biking then maybe you should consider not having one.

"Concentration in Financial Economics

Special Note: Because of continuing staffing uncertainties the Economics Department must temporarily suspend the Concentration in Financial Economics for students graduating after January 2007. We hope to announce a redesigned Concentration in the near future"

I dont think it's "new"

Thanks for all the responses. Has anyone taken calc I, II, and III and knows if the prof. allow the use of a TI 89? On tests and exams? Yes, I might not need it, but it will certainly save me time on hw. I have been using an Ti 83+ for many years so reverse back to it during tests and exams will not be a problem.

ti-89's are not allowed. i actually did not take those courses at uva (i transferred them from a place where i could use my 89) but im pretty sure about that. i'm not sure if calcs are even allowed on tests.
