FGCU Private dorm

I’m looking for information on the private dorms. I can’t find anything online. I know there aren’t many … are the popular? What are my chances of getting one? Thanks!

I’m not sure what you mean by 'private dorm’. FGCU has three types of living areas. South Village, which is completely allotted to freshmen, North Village and West Lake are for upperclassmen.

My son and I toured the college last weekend. South Village consists of five dorms. I believe they can house approximately 2500 freshmen. I think some of the buildings have suites but most have shared room spaces with two to three people. Each person gets their own bedroom within the space. It’s sort of neat. There’s a split bathroom that is shared. South Village has a beautiful pool. Forty freshman classes are taught right in the dorms. The office of student affairs and the free tutoring service is also onsite. South Village dinning really looked impressive too.

I don’t know as much about North Village and West Lake. As I said, they are both reserved for upperclassmen and we didn’t take the tour. I do know that North Village has the ‘beach’ and that West Lake is located about two miles from the main campus.

Whatever place you choose to live, you will need to put down a deposit by April first to guarantee a room in the dorms. The dorms fill up fast. They do not guarantee housing to anyone who wait until after the first of April to make a deposit.

As I understand it, FGCU won’t start making room assignments until June.

South Village offers private dorms. Private singles and private studios. Just wondering what my chances are of getting one since there are not many of them.
