Deciding between USF and FGCU. Thoughts about social life, work load, professors, able to get help when you need it…Any advice welcome.
What is your major? Have you visited these schools? Both are very different. USF has over 30,000 students, located in Tampa, FGCU has just under 3,000 students in a suburban area with close proximity to Ft Meyers. FGCU was considered more of a suitcase school until more dorms were built. A large number of students at USF are members of the Greek system, huge sports culture. USF has great research facilities in the sciences. What environment do you think you would thrive in? Are you instate? If you are instate, spend a day visiting each location, talk with admission counselors, eat at the cafeteria, go on a tour, stop current students and talk with them. Request to sit in on a freshman course class as well as one in your intended major.
If you were admitted to both, you’re probably a good student, so USF would likely be the better choice, unless you happen to live near FGCU and plan to commute.
Are there financial constraints and differences?
