Figuring out prereqs

Hi everyone!
I’m struggling to figure out the math and chemistry prereqs, particularly for med schools in my home state of California since I know some of them don’t accept AP credit. The language used on the schools’ websites is often vague and confusing, so I wondered if you guys could share your application experience…

Math: I came in with AP Calc BC credit (5 on exam, got 8 units of math credit on my transcript). Would really prefer not to do more calculus if possible. Do I need to retake Calc II or take Multivariable, or would a statistics class be sufficient to fulfill the requirement? Also, does it matter whether the stats class is biostatistics or social science statistics (school doesn’t offer “general” stats)?

Chemistry: I came in with AP Chem credit (again, 5 on the exam and 8 units on the transcript). I jumped right into Organic I and II and have been doing well. To fulfill the inorganic/general chem requirement, could I take an upper level class? As a chemistry/biochemistry major, I need to take Advanced Inorganic, Analytical, P-Chem, and Biochemistry II anyways-- would those count?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Contact adcoms of your potential Med. Schools and ask them. D. did and got her answers quickly and it was no guessing games for her.
