Don't you get two? Then you can reg your laptop as one and the router as the other.

In any event, you can simply change your computer's or your router's mac, because they are easily changeable.

So if I have a laptop and computer (and might want to add something later), I should register my router and laptop?

Can we unregister items in order to register a different item?

BTW, are there ever any building wide LAN parties? Or any LAN parties that use the existing network?

I have heard there are halo games quite often. I suspect with almost 10000 people staying on campus there must be something going on.

dsmo, you only need to register your router. Wireless internet works on a different system.

Hey that's cool, so then you can register a router and connect all the stuff you possibly want to it. If you have more than 4 devices, you can hook a second router into the first one and have 8 devices! LOL

So...can we or can we not have wirless routers?

Officially, no. But it's not like they ever check for them. I think it's mainly there because they don't want to be responsible if people mess up the dorm network or get viruses because they don't know how to run a secure wireless network.

I would think they wouldn't like wireless routers so people can't make the network public and available to anyone with a nearby computer. I would think there would be more wardriving incidents then.
