<p>The 2008-2009 FAFSA is for the 2008-2009 school year - that is the school year that started fall 2008 and will finish summer 2009. So only if you are looking for financial aid for the current fall semester or the upcoming spring or summer semesters would the 2008-2009 FAFSA be the correct one.</p>
<p>If you are looking for financial aid for the school year that starts fall 2009 you will need to complete the 2009-2010 FAFSA. Completing 2008-2009 FAFSA will not get you financial aid for the 2009-2010 school year. If you file the wrong year in error it will cause you to miss priority deadlines.</p>
<p>2009-2010 FAFSA will not be available until January 1 2009.</p>
