Hey everybody,
So I applied as an external transfer to NYU’s film and television program and since I didn’t see any recent threads specifically for it, I figured I’d make one. So I’m just about done with two semesters and I have a 3.74. My SAT’s are a little low, at a 1900. As far as extracurriculars, I barely have any because of work. However, I believe I have a strong personal story and a strong screenplay which I submitted for the creative submission. I’m very anxious because NYU has been my dream school for years now. How do you think my chances are, and when do you think we should hear back?

Do you know if it’s unlikely that transfers will get any financial aid?
It is possible to transfer into Tisch, my d knows kids who’ve done it. They will focus more on what you’ve done as a college student and especially your creative portfolio, than your SATs. My understanding is that, if accepted as a transfer into the film and television program, you will have to attend the summer session to take certain courses.
I don’t have any first hand knowledge of their financial aid program, but have heard that any aid is “not very generous” to incoming freshmen and even less to transfer students.
