Should I limit a portfolio to only projects I am completely satisfied with? I have about six things to choose from but I only really love three of them. My problem is that two of the three I like are writing, while only one is an actual short film. I’d like to do two of each, but if I don’t love any of my other films should I leave it at that?
Unless you’re applying to a fine arts school, no college admissions office will read writing samples nor watch film. Slides and 1-2 page abstracts are fine – if you’re applying to traditional colleges.
@T26E4 I should’ve mentioned — I’m applying to Wesleyan University ED. Although it’s not a fine arts school, they have probably the best “liberal arts” film program. Also, because of the new Hamilton scholarship they will be reading writing submissions.
Wow – sounds great then. Best of luck! Clearly my generalized advice doesn’t apply in your situation.
