I applied early to BU and got deferred so now its the waiting game. I applied to Pitt on a whim decision and got it. Both schools sound great especially because I want to live in a city. Some key points are that the film and television school at boston are notoriously better, however it is much cheaper to live in Pittsburgh and go to school there.
So I ask, which school has more of a social experience? Which school will prepare me to be a better filmmaker? Which school should I go to?!?!?!

Pitt has more of a social experience. I say that subjectively, but that also seems to be backed up by Princeton Reviews quality of life and happiness rankings.

Pitt’s film program, as well as the rest of the colleges in the area like Carnegie-Mellon, is completely tied into [Pittsburgh Filmakers](<a href=“Pittsburgh Filmmakers :: Find best hotels”>http://www.pghfilmmakers.org/), which is a city-wide media arts center. In that way, Pitt’s program is sort of unconventional, but it has been that way for almost 40 years. I have no idea what that means as far as making one a better filmmaker compared to BU’s program. In general, BU is better known for fine arts programs than Pitt.

thanks
anybody else?

Bassface, I would advise you to watch the Departed.
In that movie, a lot of violent Irishman kill a bunch of people…in Boston. After I saw that movie, I realized that if I went to school in Boston, then a bunch of people from the Irish mafia would kill me. I do not want that to happen to you.

Go to Pitt. There a lot of Qdoba locations there. Also, the Oscars are in Pittsburgh.

Pitt and BU both lost in March Madness… tough choice my friend =P

thanks jumbalaya, but i honestly dont think you could be any more unhelpful.

Boston University. It’s important to consider the multitude of possibilities the city of Boston has to offer, whether it be internships, jobs, networking, etc. Also, 1 in every 4 people you meet in Boston is a college student. BU all the way :)

Just accepted to BU this morning… Ahh I have to make a decision!
