Film School vs. Marketing Degree?

I am very passionate about film, and have been totally set on getting into the industry somehow one way or another. I have been attending a community college in the Bay Area in Northern California for the past 2 years but will be transferring for the next semester or two to Santa Monica College to increase my GPA (currently 3.4, but hoping to raise to 3.6 after two semesters) to increase my chances of getting accepted into a better college and one that is in the LA area.

My main question is how should I go about getting a degree and pursuing film?

My second choice major is Marketing. What I am wondering is this:
Should I:

Plan A) Apply for Marketing for Fall 2011 at about 3-5 good schools in the LA area (such as Loyola Marymount, Chapman, Pepperdine) with a few CSUs like Northridge thrown in as a safety, while also applying for History at UCLA and the Business School at USC. I could then either: complete the degree at one of the schools and try for an MD in film, OR try to switch majors into film after a semester or two at that school (would that be hard to achieve?)

Plan B) Apply to Loyola Marymount and Chapman for film for Spring 2011. If I wouldn't get in, I would just re-apply for Fall for Marketing, along with the schools mentioned earlier (this would just be my sort of last gamble at trying to get straight into film).

Plan C) Apply to Loyola Marymount and Chapman for marketing for Spring 2011, which would increase my chances of getting in, and would let me go to a nice school a semester sooner and give me more time to try transferring into film there. The downside is then I wouldn't be able to look at my other options had I waited to hear back from other schools for Fall 2011.

What should I do? Please help...this has been constantly on my mind!

Hi there, I know what your going trough I have the same problem. I am very passionate about film and I really would like to do a film mayor but then again looking at what you could earn after you graduate marketing seems the better option. Marketing will put you one step ahead of the film students because you would be there manager and have to tell them what to do. What i’m wondering is: If I do marketing will there still be time left to do film? Or even pursue a film career. And does marketing go together with film at all.
