Film Schools in California

I'm currently in the middle of my first semester at Berkeley Digital Film Institute in Berkeley, CA. It's a very good program. I base this opinion on:

I've wanted to be a producer/filmmaker since I was in 3rd grade so I've been reading a lot around the field and about schools.

I've visited all the usual suspects and gotten feedback from friends that have gone to: UCLA, USC, Chapman, NYU, SF Academy of Art, Brooks Institute. I think the bar is set too low at those schools personally.

I've been a professional videographer for 8 years, started since I was 19 yrs old. Their cinematography class really rounds out a lot of things as well as inspiring

They focus you towards making something high quality and marketable in the main stream, and encourage making an authentic stuff.

Between the faculty, there's 7 Academy Awards.

I just looked at a 2nd semester student's work today and it's freaken awesome..like feature film quality beautiful!

We get to shoot on HD for our last 3 semesters.

I could go on and on. Just go the the website: Berkeley Digital Film Institute - Welcome! . It's going to be updated to include a lot of student work in Sept/Oct 2008.

It sounds great but it isn't a four-year credited university is it? :P I looked at it, but If I'm not mistaken it's not a four-year school right?

Don't count on getting into LMU with a 3.3! They have a very unusual acceptance, it can be all over the charts, but getting tougher.

Oh really, well my gpa is more about 3.7. Is that still good?

LMU u could prob get in w/ 3.7, im looking to apply there too for film,3.5

Oh good! Well good luck! I'm glad I have a few options now, I'm going to apply to Chapman, Layola Marymount, USC, and I was wondering about SCU Long beach, is their program any good? Also what are my chances considering I'm out of state, I know the SCU schools tend to accept more in state students.
