Any other prospective film students out there? My S applied and I was wondering if anyone has received invitations to interview yet. I think that should be happening really soon. One good thing is that if S does not get an invitation, then at least he'll know he isn't in, unlike the other schools where he'll have to wait until April.

My understanding is that the admission to the university is separate. In other words, he could be accepted to the university but not to the film school. If that happens, it is still possible he would attend FSU, though we are out of state. He hopes to receive an ROTC scholarship which would cover the tuition & fees.

I guess we'll find out 2/20 whether he is accepted to the university. His stats are good - 1420/2160 SAT, 3.56 GPA UW (over 3.8 with FSU's weighting), and some really great ec's, so I think he'll be accepted, but it sure is hard not knowing for sure!

Thanks, p2n! Yes, believe me, we know all about the stats for admission to the film school. It's a long shot for anybody. I am hoping that his grades & test scores will get him past the first cut on the film school screening. He's won some nice awards for his short films, but nothing really major....and I'm sure that some kids who did win major stuff will be applying too! Maybe I can just hope that those kids have crummy grades & test scores. ;-)

I hadn't even thought about Honors. That would be very cool if he doesn't get into the film school!
