Ok so is the film studies major at Berkeley difficult to transfer into? And I know the comm major at ucla is very difficult to transfer into but does any one know the acceptance rate for that major?

well, i spoke with UC berekeley about the film studies last year and they told me that i would have no trouble getting into the film department if i were able to get admitted to the school. for whatever that is worth. they did mention the language requirements. you need two foreign languages in order to graduate with a film studies degree at CAL. they did mention that those courses could be taken credit/no credit. that’s all i know. of coures the Film Department at UCLA only takes 19 transfers per year, at least that is what they told me last year. so i applied to the history department and will see if it is possible to transfer into the film department. did you contact the UC departments directly? they are very helpful and will certainly give you the stats if you need them. good luck.

Last year the acceptance rate for the Communications major was 11.44%. Film was 3.5%.
