Just a little curious how the program is. Am I gonna regret turning down Tisch in order to go what’s been my dream school since the 6th grade?

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TURN DOWN TISCH IN FILM FOR BC. If you want to LEARN film and want to have the best opportunities to actually do something in film go to tisch. In film, some of the best known schools for film are usc, nyu, ucla, chapman, etc. Outside of that there arent too many well known schools for film in the US. IVE never heard anything about BC film program because it is not known. Turning down tisch would be the most stupid decision you could do and WILL regret it if youre seriously into film. Even though I too prefer BC over NYU, I would go to nyu.

I haven’t actually gotten into NYU, but there and Columbia have been hounding me. My primary focus is on psych, which is why I’m fearing NYU considering I like BC much more. And if I fall out of film at NYU than that’s gonna be a sucky four years. Ya know?

Why was BC your dream school since 6th grade?

i visited with my cousin when he was applying to schools and fell in love with it for aesthetic reasons then. i found legitimate reasons to want to go there in subsequent years.

I’m also interested to hear about the program, as someone who got into BC. Film is a big passion for me, but I definitely don’t want to go to film school (I’m probably gonna be an econ major). I plan on taking some classes in it wherever I go if they have it, but even now I’m taking plain-jane HS Film Studies and love it. I’d rather do it on the side, even if BC doesn’t have a great program. I doubt people go to BC to primarily study film, so it’s not surprising that it’s not recognized IMO – it doesn’t really serve the same purpose, you know?
