Does anyone know if you're still qualified for financial aid at Stanford or other top schools if you've applied for permanent residency and are still waiting? I've been waiting for 3 years and am not sure if I'll get it by application time. Usually, my situation falls under the "eligible noncitizen" category which still provides financial aid but I'm not sure if it's is the same for Stanford.

At Stanford, your entire application will be considered International, and your decision will not be need-blind.

[International Applicants : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/application/international/index.html)

“If you are an international citizen attending school in the U.S., we will read your application within the context of your high school. However, your citizenship will also be noted in the evaluation of your application, particularly if you are applying for need-based financial aid.”

This is the norm from what I have seen for schools that are not need-blind to international students, so you may want to recheck with the schools you are applying to.

Is there anyone out there who was an international applicant that applied for aid to Stanford or another top school and actually got in? I just see the chances of this as very close to zero. If there is, it would be very reassuring :)
