Fin aid at University of Delaware?

<p>Anyone with experience with financial aid at the University of Delaware?</p>

<p>Lots of loans?
Good merit aid?</p>

<p>btw, i have 4.0, top 4% of class, 1370 SAT, lots of ECs and awards..</p>

<p>Udel's tuition is 18,450 for out of state (not counting room & board)</p>

<p>Merit aid philosphy is to give a little bit to a lot of people except to the lucky 40 or so DuPont Scholars who indeed get the full free ride plus books and maybe even a summer program. The "little bit" seems to range from about $1000 to $6000. Need aid goes directly by the FASFA EFC.</p>

<p>I have no firsthand knowledge, but I heard that merit aid at U. Del is very spotty and hard to predict. One person may get a generous award while another person, with similar stats, gets far less, with no evident rhyme or reason to it.</p>
