Hello. I was accepted to LSA (honors) a while back. I am an out of state applicant. I recently went on wolverine access and noticed that they had a financial aid calculator. I did that, and the bill came up as $18399 ($14,485.69 tuition, 3687housing, and a few other minor costs like orientation). Needless to say, this was not what I hoped for. I was wondering how accurate this calculator was. 1. it said it did not include merit awards, however, as of now, I have not received any (I did apply for the michigan academic excellence thingy). What are the chances that I will get any merit scholarships at this point in the game. Also, does this include need based aid? My EFC on fasfa said 7500, so why such a huge discrepancy? Anyways, can someone please clarify exactly what these figures mean, and what is the likelihood that I would be paying less? Also, when do I know for sure what the bill will be? Thank you.

The calculator on WA is for everyone (and that's one semester I believe), not including aid people get.

They'll be mailing aid packages out in mid-March.

so are you saying that the number is virtually meaningless because it does not factor in my need based aid (whatever that is)?

yea pretty sure
