Fin Aid for US students

Undergrad int'l tuition is ridiculously high--something like US$ 50,000 per year. Does McGill itself have resources to supply that aid, or would I have to go through a private entity? The only reasonable non-McGill source of aid I could see was an Organization of American States fellowship which is already closed for the 2010-11 year and would likely be very comptetive.

Also, on a totally unrelated note, Princeton Rev. has McGill down as having inaccessible professors and little classroom discussion. How true is that?

Errr… no, it’s not. If it were, I’d be in the States right now. Arts Undergrad tuition is ~US$14,000 and Science is ~US$19,500.

As a US student, don’t expect to get financial aid from McGill. Also, their merit scholarships are über-competitive.

The amount of classroom discussion depends on the course. Yeah, there won’t be so much in, say a large science class. In a smaller philosophy class, there’ll be much more. The profs accessibility also varies a lot depending on the prof, but many are more approachable than they appear. The only thing is that you have to be proactive and initiate contact. The profs won’t come to you by default.
