Fin Aid is out!~

How much aid did you guys receive and what was your EFC?

It won’t let me log into me. I keep getting this message: “Our system is currently experiencing a large number of inquiries. Please try to access your file at another time. We appreciate your patience.” :(

My EFC = 27847
And I got a UCI Grant of $550+ something lol.
I am not going there though. UCSD for me~

@The Power of One - Yeah it took me a while to log onto it too. Since it just came out, a lot of people are checking it out all at the same time lol.

@Paulinea- Thanks for the heads-up. I guess I have to be patient.
So is UCSD giving you more aid?

@Power keep spamming the login lol… worked for me.

My EFC: 0

Direct Costs (Fees and Health Insurance): $11,961.00
Books and Supplies: $1,661.00
Living Expenses: (Housing/Meals, Transportation, Personal): $14,443.00
My UCI Costs: $28,065.00

Academic Competitiveness Grant for First Year: $750.00
CAL A FLIP: $10,302.00
Federal Pell Grant (01): $5,550.00
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant: $500.00
UC Irvine Grant: $3,060.00
My Gift Aid: $20,162.00

Net Cost: $7,903.00

I have to pay its all.

i got no aid at all :frowning: Crap thats 28k a year

@The Power of One - Not really. My EFC is incredibly high so there is not much aid for me there too. I chose it just because of the beach environment and it seems to be a better school for my major.

And on a sidenote, it said there that official awarding for aid will begin around May - so hopefully I get some!

@dkwon My financial aid information is exactly the same as yours and my EFC is also 0. Does that mean everyone who had an EFC of 0 gets that much aid?

@18cuts: That’s what I’m thinking… or at least a majority of those with 0 EFC.

^ Did you accept all the loans and work study? I’m going to accept work study but I’m not sure about the loans…

my efc was around 8600- 8700, i dont have it memorized at the moment.

i got 10730 in uci grant. (no pell grant, cal a flip, etc)

I’m definitely going for the work-study as it will help me pay off the fees and it will be work experience, which is beneficial since I barely have any. I most likely will accept the loans as well… my mother can’t afford the 8K, so no other option… :/

how are you all logging in? I keep getting this message in red font :(

@jessy: spam the login and you’ll eventually get in.

@dkwon I’m with you on the loans, but there’s interest no?

@dkwon I’m stupid when it comes to this kind of thing, how do you spam the login?

^ Just keep logging in until you’re in. Took me about five minutes.

I haven’t looked into it much, but there will be interest, but it will probably be a lot smaller than loan from banks.

How do you figure out the breakdown of the gift aid?

EDIT: Nevermind I figured it out. xD

My EFC was around 700 and they are giving me $21,941 in gift aid.

Academic Competitiveness Grant for First Year $750.00
Cal Grant B Stipend $1,551.00
Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship $2,500.00
Federal Pell Grant (01) $4,800.00
UC Irvine Grant $12,340.00

okay, I got in
My awards:
Cal Grant A $10,302
UC Irvine Grant $3,840
Total Gift Aid $14,142
Total Expenses $13,923

I’m happy with that
