Fin Aid letter received

Just in case anyone else is waiting to hear from Williams.

DD got an early write admissions packet last week on Friday - and received the FA offer today in the mail. FWIW - we are in VA.

Williams was very generous, we were schocked at the amount of our out pocket costs will be. It is much lower than our Fafsa EFC had indicated.

Thanks Williams! Cant wait to get the rest of the decisions and of course, FA info.

Williams is known to give among the best financial aid in the country, at the same level as HYP.

Thanks onecircuit - do you know anything about aid at Brown and Amherst?
Those are the ones we are still waiting to hear from.

Thanks.

Amherst will be at the level of Williams and I can’t imagine Brown being that far off, or at the worse, a thousand or two dollars within Williams’ financial aid package. Sometimes, you should know, the differences are in the amount of grant v. (loan + work study) amounts.

Thanks onecircuit -

Of course, Brown and Amherst have to accept her first, but we are hopeful. But, if they do and their FA packages are anywhere close to Williams, she will have some nice choices and ones that we can swing.

FWIW - the loan amout for Williams was so small ( only $2500 yr.) that we would probably pass on that portion and just pay it or have D work this summer to earn the $.

The WS was $1800 for the yr. & we would have D accept it and work on campus a few hours a week for spending money.

She has her heart set on Amherst or Brown and of course, no LL or early writes from either of them. We will wait and pray!

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.
