Would anyone mind posting their Fin Aid package break down (% loans/grants, EFC, etc) if they did not receive a merit based scholarships?
I'm just wondering how need based aid is assigned without Case scholarships.

you didn't receive any merit-based scholarships?

I ended up with a scholarship, but I also need a lot of aid..... You don't seem to have many takers on this subject so would you like me to post anyway?

what scholarship did you get trellily?

trellily -
Sure, please post your info. I'm interested in the packages of anyone who had large amounts of need. (How much did they give you in loans? I got $9000 a year!)

Well my EFC is $0, so ideally I need full aid. Here's what I got:
ACG (federal): $750
Case Loan: $4,930
Federal Work Study: $2,906
Federal Pell Grant: $4,310
Federal Perkins Loan: $2,500
Federal Stafford Loan: $3,500
FSEOG: $200
PA State Grant: $600
and my merit scholarship was the Trustees': $26,800
totaling up to $46,496, which is full cost of attendance
but notice that in addition to the $6,000 in federal loans, I must take out a $5,000 Case loan.

Wow, 11K in loans.
At least there's no EFC.
For me, I don't really want my parents taking out a PLUS loan, but if it must be done, then it shall.

Oh, and the work-study, are you deciding to accept that offer, trellily?

Here's what I got from Case:

Academic Competitiveness Grant $750.00
Case Grant-in-Aid $26,000.00
Case Loan $5,730.00
Federal College Work Study Program (FCWSP) $2,900.00
*Federal Pell Grant $3,560.00
Federal Perkins Loan $2,500.00
Federal Stafford Loan - Subsidized $3,500.00
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) $1,000.00

So basically my grants add up to $31K and I have $12K in loans. My EFC was 800, so my package matched it completely. Loans kind of suck, but still. $31,000 that I don't have to pay back is pretty flippin sweet.

lilkim - so you're a trustee's scholarship recipient?

Yeah, I'm pretty much going to have to work, no matter where I go.
