Finacial aid for foreign student

Hi, I don´t know much about American colleges and I want to know which good American colleges offer financial aid to foreign students and what grades I have to take.
Everything helps me

thank you, Luís

What year are you in in HS?

How much aid would you need to attend college in this country?

Are there colleges in your country that are affordable.

There are two hurdles you need to climb.

One is whether schools are need blind for admissions. This means that schools do NOT consider your financial need when considering your application for admission.

The second is whether the college guarantees to meet full need for all, acceoted international students.

At this point in time, there are only five colleges which are both need blind and meet full need for international students.

Of the schools that meet full need for international students, the rest are need aware. These schools are highly competitive for admissions, and particularly so for international students. Acceptance rates are in the single digits.

You would need to have tippy top HS grades, and tippy top ACT or SAT scores to be accepted.

I’ve already finished HS I took a look at a sat and act of maths and for my knowledge in maths is ok, the rest I have a low gpa grades and poor english that I can work in one month

Yes there are schools in Portugal but I am trying to see what I could do in america

Honestly, not many options available for students with lower stats, either international students or US students. The best schools financially are usually the best schools academically, so hard to get into. If you can get in, those schools provide a lot of aid.

Yes I do have a low GPA but if I could get well in exams what are my chances?

There are no inexpensive colleges in the US for foreign students with low stats. Zero. Only super top foreign students get aid.

Your realistically affordable options are going to be in your home country or in other countries in Europe.

Doesn’t matter how well you do on your SATs. With a low GPA, none of the schools that give aid to int’ls will even admit you, much less give you aid.

This country doesn’t have enough money to provide an education for its own students. Therefore, there’s really no way an int’l w/o tippy top stats is going to get a lot of aid. Not happening.

The SAT covers more than just math. What was your SAT score on each section? The ACT covers more than just math. What was your ACT score on each subtest?

Your GPA WILL matter to the colleges regardless of your test scores. Schools that are very generous with need based aid are very hard to get into…and BOTH your GPA and test scores will matter…a lot.

Ok thank you all for your help
