we will get paper letters in the mail explaining a little bit more about our financial aid, correct? because i received an ESTIMATED $3,700 from the pell grant and i want to know if that is a for sure thing before i fully accept.

My guess is that the Pell amount is estimated because the maximum Pell award is expected to increase by $500 this year and I’m not sure if congress has finalized it as yet. Your best bet is to call the financial aid office and maybe ask what the worst possible scenario would be. (probably $500 less) It also wouldn’t hurt to ask if they would supplement any reduction in the estimated Pell with University grants.

Also, the hard copy of your financial aid letter does not really include any “additional” info. It looks different, but basically says the same thing. I wonder if they will wait to send yours until they have an actual Pell amount. If you look at the financial aid threads, Financial aid departments across the country are facing the same problem.
