I sent all my tax returns and such with a letter added to the front. Columbia says they've received the letter but not the tax returns on the website. I sent them in the same envelope...

Is there a chance they just took one look at the letter at the front and just stuck all the papers in somewhere as part of the letter? Will this affect finaid decisions at all (like they wont give me anything since they listed my docs as incomplete)? Eek!

I did call them and the lady said she'd look into it. Eh, not a very definite answer or anything.

If you have another copy, maybe send it again?

I'm in the same boat, trying to get these seemingly hundreds of tax forms to them. To boot, my mom apparently can't get a FAFSA PIN with her SSN.

I postmarked my tax returns on the 21st, yet they have not been recieved by the fin aid office. Emailing the office hasn't helped either, as they've stopped responding to my emails ever since I've was deferred...

I sent my returns in, and they haven't received them. I won't be sending in other ones. This was certified mail and I KNOW they have them. My teachers, and counselor are so annoyed by all the extra copies they had to get in to them. If they can not get their stuff together than I think I'd rather go somewhere else now. Other boards for similar universities on cc have postings that aren't about their prospective schools, in a sense, ignoring them!
(<- and that's me being nice) I worry about being there and dealing with excessive, unnecessary red tape when I just want an education. Oh well...

i sent mine in the day before it was due, and upon checking my status- they haven't received it (site was updated yesterday)-- i'll bet it was lost in the mail

today, i went to the post office and sent it again- w/ a confirmation for a SIGNATURE

what letter are you guys talking about? were we supposed to attach something to it?

prideandpride, i know how you feel. i've had to send in teacher recs twice because they havent received/processed them yet. all my other schools seem to have gotten them fine..

I checked my status for Columbia and Wesleyan and they both said I was missing a "FAFSA Verification Worksheet." Uh... why is no such thing mentioned anywhere on their FinAid FAQs? Did I miss a part of the FAFSA? Regardless, I sent a worksheet to every college I applied to, just in case.

Do they respond to anyone's emails? When I was applying ED I usually got responses within 24 hours. I sent an email to fin aid in January (no response) and last week about my materials (no response). I also sent an email to my regional admissions officer in early january to try to talk about my application (no response) and in mid-late february for an update (no response). With this wonderful treatment, Columbia is really pushing my patience with their "first choice status" with respect to my college applications.
