Finaid verification?

Hi, I’m new here, but I joined because I had some questions about my finaid. I filled out the CA Dream Act for 2015-2016. I logged on to my webgrants and it said I was selected for verification. I have no idea how to go about verifying whatever they wanted from me. Do they want my tax returns? Or my ab540 status? Or something else?

Also, it says to contact my schools finaid office but I’m a senior, so I don’t have a finaid office. What do I do?

You may need to submit your GPA?

See http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/paying-for-uc/apply-for-aid/

If you are selected for financial aid verification, your school(s) will tell you what they want you to send.

If it is for Calgrant purposes…see above post.

Thanks for the help.

4kidsdad, my high school takes care of the GPA verification for us. We just fill it out and the send it in when we apply.

thumper1, by “school(s)” do you mean the colleges I applied to or my high school because that is what is confusing me. I don’t know if I have to go to talk to my high school or the colleges…

Thanks for the help everyone.

If the colleges select you for verification…the colleges will tell you what to send to them.

Your high school has nothing to do with financial aid verification.

Alright, thanks so much for your help, thumper1. I’ll just wait for the school to tell me what I need.

They will likely need paperwork like you mentioned, the tax returns, W-2 or 1099. They check the money coming in. Bank accounts balance too.

BrownParent, that seems like the most likely reason. I was just asking because I didn’t know where to send my info or what they wanted. Typically, do I send the financial info after or before the deadline? After tax returns?

For verification from the COLLEGE. You send the info when the college requests it…and by the deadline they state. Once you know what to send, send it as soon as possible.
