<p>any chance tht can be covered by finaid? because tht’s not exactly mentioned in the app… and when filling the finaid forms and expected contribution, I didn’t consider the extra $2000!!! it’s going to be reallllly difficult if i have to pay the expected contribution i’ve filled in + med insurance myself!</p>

<p>You do not need to take the 2000-dollar medical insurance if you already have medical insurance of your own. Penn just requires that you have it -- if you don't have insurance that meets Penn's standards, you must take their plan. Otherwise you can waiver Penn's insurance plan online in a matter of minutes (which is what I did, as I am already covered by Blue Cross). In other words, just waiver it and don't worry about it. Upon entering Penn, you will be emailed reminders about insurance and where to go to waiver it.</p>
