I got accepted into the school(NCSU) I always wanted to attend (I transferred from a Community College) and while I am beyond thrilled I am also very worried… This past semester was not good for me at all… I failed a class and got a D in another one. I had some personal problems and had to work overtime a lot so I did not have a lot of time to study. I have to submit a final official transcript and I’m so scared that my acceptance will get revoked. Has anyone here gone through this? what happened? how did everything work out? I’m so worried that I messed everything up in a single semester.
Be proactive. YOu can’t turn back the clock so you have to deal with the situation at hand. YOU go and spk with the school – don’t let them discover it after you submit your transcript. Face it head on. If you are passive, they’ll passively reject you too. If you’re proactive, can engage them as a person with a plan to succeed, they MIGHT not reject you. Good luck.
^^^^ Totally agreed. Don’t let it surprise them by having the transcript just show up in their office. You have to talk to someone in admissions and see what they say about it. Be honest and don’t make excuses for your failures; sure it happened but now is the time to look forward and improve from that.
Thank you all! I will put in a request to have my transcripts sent tomorrow, maybe monday, and I will be going to the admissions office on Tuesday. I will make sure to be ready to explain myself and I will not make excuses. I have always been a good student with good grades, but this last semester was not a good one for me and I hope all my effort over the last two years is not wasted because of a single semester.
