Anyone have final numbers on how many applied, how many accepted? Carnegie Mellon Admissions rep? (school-by-school breakdown would be appreciated).

bump - I would rather like to know this...

15,436 applications up 15% from last year, don't know how many were accepted.

I heard that CMU ended up getting close to 17000 applicants. These cannot all be for the 1400 freshman spots....that would give an acceptance rate way too low. Does anyone know what the actual acceptance rate was for 2005. I thought for 2004 it was in the 30-35% range.

You can get a lot of useful info by reading the CMU Factbook. It is a great resource and I believe it has a lot of the info you are looking for. It is in PDF format and there is one for several past years. Here is the 2005 book:

charles101: there are 1400 spots in the freshman class, but they admit about twice that - not all the people who are admitted enroll, remember.

wct ~ great reference. Thanks!
