Final Batch of Appointments...

...should be coming soon. According to usna website, by April 15. Do you think they will all come at once? How many out there are like me with QQQ and nom and still waiting? I have appointment to CGA but USNA is still my first choice. Good luck everybody.

Bossf51~My son is in the same "boat"...Qualified with a nomination and needs an eye waiver...Happy with his recent acceptance to Cornell. A really big deal living in NY and he has had a NROTC scholarship there since October. Other great offers too...not sure what he will decide but he will have to make a decision shortly. Best of luck to you!

I'm in the same position. Triple-Q back in October, two nominations at the end of December, went to CVW in November, but still waiting to hear, probably because I need an eye waiver.

I wonder how many people are left that haven't heard yet. Navy is known to be the slowest service academy at getting appointments out. Oh well, any day now we'll all know.

Jonez ~ Same situation here. November qualified (needs eye waiver), went to CVW in Nov, nomination in December, received interview with one senator and wasn't allowed to interview for the other due to already obtaining a nomination even though they called him. (Senators won't let you proceed with interviews if you have a nomination here/competative state.) My son has awesome offers from his other schools but still wants to hear from USNA.

We were told at CVW that with the exception of LOA's, eye waivers would come out at the end. So, we were prepared but it's still tough waiting and the longer it goes the harder it gets.

His application was sent the end of June so this feels like forever... Best of luck to you...

I'm really nervous about the mail that will be coming during the next couple weeks.
All of this waiting and nervous anticipation…and it will all culminate with a letter in the mail. I’ve been trying to make it so if I don’t swing it, I won’t have too much of a let down…like telling myself “well there’s always next year” and such. But after getting through a waiver(s) situation from hell, and just knowing that this is my one dream, having people that don’t know too much about the process tell me they know I’ll get in, thinking about the academy constantly (I’ve tried to tone it down a bit), …all that and everything else makes for a huge disappointment. I’m sure the other “waiters” are having similar feelings right about now.

"His application was sent the end of June so this feels like forever... Best of luck to you..."

I also finished everything in June, it's been too long... Best of luck to your son as well.

I haven't heard anything else either, but I also needed a medical waiver, so we'll see what happens. I've been told that I could still get in, but they only have nine more days to get back to me.

I finished my application in September, got a QQQ in October, went on CVW, need an eye waiver and was disturbed to recieve an email from my BGO looking like this:
At this point your candidate package still shows “Not Yet Evaluated” as far as an offer of appointment is concerned. It would not be out of line for you to call the CGO and “remind” them that you’re still very much interested in reporting on for the Class of 2009.
Why hasnt it been evaluated already?

In the same position everyone else is...I guess no news is good news right now.

Keep in mind that the April 15 date isn't totally concrete. They still send out appointments afterwards as people decline. All hope is not lost...

My Senator's office just called: They mailed appointments today!

Well, considering I don't have a nomination...I won't really be expecting much but unless by some miracle the Superintendent wanted to give me one...well ok.

Kritarch, did he say if this meant all the remaining appointments? Rejections also? Do they send out rejects at this point? I know many appointments come later in the process.

I received my appointment last Tuesday in the mail. Actually my representative's office called and told me I had been offered an appointment. I also had to get an eye waiver...
On a different note, I have heard that appointments are given up to I-Day, so I wouldn't give up hope now!
