wow, this thread requires a lot of bumping. >:

So I think that your EC’s and standardized testing put you at the top of the pack. What will hurt you (I think) is your GPA, especially in UC schools where they get a ton of applicants with a 4.0. Not to mention an abundance of high achieving east asian applicants. But I think you still have a very good chance based on EC’s and ACT.

sorry that was mostly irrelevant, the ivies and the really top notch choices might be a stretch. But I def think you have a solid chance at all the state schools, CM, pepper, GW,USC, and Fordham.

@mt2165 - thanks for the input! Yeah, the top notch choices are stretches, but…dreams will be dreams, y’know? ;D

On another note, I don’t know which school I want to “use” my ED application on. I’m thinking NU, CMU, Cornell, or Rice, as I have no shot at those schools if I apply RD. Of course, I don’t think I have a very good shot at some of the other schools on this list, but these four schools are <3. The only thing about ED at CMU that makes me hesitant is the fact that I can’t negotiate my financial aid - they promise to meet 100% of demonstrated need if you apply ED, but I’ve heard that a decent/large chunk of that comes through loans. Maybe Northwestern? I’ve visited twice, and I plan on officially spending the night there once that option becomes available again. Any suggestions? Also, some random stuff to add to the resume: AP scholar, and GPA will be 4.15 by the end of 1st semester, not 4.1, which is significant because I think that pushes me over into the magical top ten percent.

So…I’m thinking of applying ED to NU, otherwise I have no shot. Even with ED, I don’t think I have a real shot, aha.
