Final chance me for ed! Legacy! Please!

I am absolutely in love with Duke. I already sent in my supplement and am sending in my general common app this weekend. I know GPA is low, but with EC's and test scores and personal stuff (essays, recs), how do you guys think I will do? I got straight As first quarter senior year in an incredibly rigorous curriculum. I also have legacy at Duke with a parent who contributes a decet amount of money. What do you think? Will chance back!

senior year classes-
AP Spanish Lang, Multivariable Calculus, AP Physics C, AP English Lang, History elective

[] ACT: 32 (Retook in October hopefully 33+)
[] GPA: 3.6 Weighted, I'm taking the most rigorous curriculum possible
SIGNIFICANT upward trend -sophomore year 3.35 junior year- 3.8, senior year first quarter 4.55 weighted
[] Rank: School doesn't rank
[] EC's: SGA President (Senior Year), Junior Class President, Editor-in-Chief of Newspaper, Yearbook Editor, Captain of Cross Country Team, Tour Guide, Ambassador of Prestigious Summer Travel Program, Student Conductor/Director of show band which was nominated for national award, been playing piano for 11 years, participated in many state competitions. 200+ Hours of community service in Spain, Morocco, Peru. did Summer internship in Boston last july

Subjective:
[] Essays: very good memorable essay about music and effect on me.
[] Why Duke: very good, not like the ordinary why duke
[] Teacher Recs: Very close with teachers, great recs
[] Counselor Rec: great
[] Hook (if any): legacy

Location/Person:
[] State or Country: Maryland
[] School Type: Private, VERY competitive
[] Ethnicity: White (50% Lebanese.. so maybe Arab American )
[] Gender: Male

If you are legacy, you have a very good chance. Good score (32+is good but not impressive) & GPA. Decent amount of ECs.

What’s your unweighted GPA? Have you gotten mostly B’s? If 4.55 is achievable, I’d think a 3.6 includes mostly non-A grades, but I don’t know how your school does its weighting. There’s no way for us to tell how good or bad a 3.6 weighted is at your school without a class rank or the scale outlined.

That always helps. :)

I think your chances are solid depending on what your grades actually are. Typically, legacy+donations+ED+qualified applicant = acceptance. Good luck!

My school’s grading scale is this:

A+ (99-100): 4.33
A (93-98): 4.0
A- (90-92): 3.66
B+ (87-89): 3.33
B (84-86): 3.0
B- (80-83): 2.66

Weighted classes are given 1 extra point, for example: an A in AP English is given a 5.0

My UW gpa not counting first quarter of senior year is a 3.4.

You have a strange grading system… For my school a 4.0 is a 92, which is a little unfair if you have to get 3 points higher for that 4.0. I have found that after 92 it takes me a lot of work to get 95’s on things consistently.

Got a 33 on my ACT for October. Does that change anything. It’s a 34 superscored!

bump please I would love to hear anyone’s opinions

Duke does not superscore the ACT.

They take the highest score from each individual section regardless of test date, but don’t recalculate a composite score, so it’s kind of half-superscoring
