Chance me for :
Cornell ED
U Penn
Georgia Tech
University of Ilinois Urbana Champaign
Penn State University Park
Purdue University

I'll Chance back so please leave a link Thank You

Hey! One of my close buds is applying ED to Cornell as well! He talks a lot about it, so maybe I can use a little bit of that to give you my thoughts. I do not know too much about IB diploma, but I will assume you are top 10 percent :).

I think your SAT scores might be a bit low for Cornell, strictly from a numbers standpoint. Of course, standardized tests are never the whole story, and I can’t pretend to know what goes on in the admission officers’ heads.

Moving onto your EC’s, I think you have some great leadership! Colleges love that (I mean, who doesn’t want a leader?), and that is one thing that I think is a real asset to your app. The only real detriment that I see is that you do not have a bevy of honors for your activities. Generally, it is better to gain recognition in your activities, and a lot of applicants will try to distinguish themselves with competitions and such.

So assuming you are top 10 percent, I would say Cornell ED and U Penn are probably reaches (any Ivy is), GA Tech and Champaign are a high matches/low reaches, the rest are safeties.

Wish you the best of luck!

I looked at OP’s post for like 3 min and couldn’t figure out the college you’re EDing too.

So who knows.

Thank You for your insight it was really helpful  I just checked cornell’s incoming class profile and the median was 1420 and I have a CR + Math of 1410, so I would be at the median. Is that not good enough for the Ivy school?

The post says Cornell ED

Which college, there’s 7…

I’m applying of early decision to Cornell University, ED= early decision. Did you mean early decision by EDing? I’m confused

Ok you haven’t started your cornell app then.

I have but what is EDing?? I’ve not heard of it

Oh sorry!! Had to look closely at your post, I am applying to college of engineering.

Really hard to say then, maybe 25% chance of getting in.

Bump… Anyone? I’ll chance back

I’m no expert… But I have done extensive research on college apps (Maybe too much) and have a cabinet of Ivy league cousins (Sigh)… So I can briefly tell you what they told me after I got my SAT results back. Your resume is what you want to say, your SATs is you voice.

Your SATs are weak, but not really really weak. And your resume is really stellar. So there’s a chance for the last four.
Unfortunately, unless you really pull those grades up to a 2150+, you have really high reaches for the rest. In the same boat as me! ):

The only thing I believe that could be stopping you from getting into Cornell and Penn is your SAT score. But I still believe you have a “good” chance.
Penn and Cornell - reach (they’re always a reach, just because of the admission officers)
Georgia Tech and UIUC - high match
Purdue and Penn State - low match

Mine please?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1567285-chance-transfer.html</a></p>

I chanced you  Bump!!!

Cornell: reach
U Penn: reach
Georgia tech: low reach
UIUC : low match
Penn state: safety
Purdue: match

Please chance me back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1568050-chances-purdue-penn-state-engineering.html</a></p>

I think you have a good chance at Cornell

Your ECs are in good shape!

Cornell & UPenn: Reach
Georgia Tech, UIUC, Penn State University Park, Purdue: Match

Help me out too? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1568031-international-student-dartmouth-ed-chances-please-help.html</a></p>

Even with relatively average test scores, your ECs are fabulous. I’d say mid-reach for Cornell and UPenn, and mid/low match for the rest. Not familiar with GTech though. Chance me back?
