International Student: From Turkey

Colleges I am aiming/majors:
Yale/Double Major in Economics and Sociology (SCEA)
Harvard/Economics-Government (Secondary Field)

University of Chicago/Double Major in Economics and International Relations

As you can see, all of them which I will apply are International friendly and are generous in Financial Aids.

I am planning to get a Msc in Finance at MIT, Columbia or Princeton right after college and then, after a 2-3 years later, I plan on having an MBA. (I know this is uncommon)

So, here I am:

Financial Aid: Will Request

I am going to an American high school in Turkey. I know that being in Turkey may be a circumstance but my school has good connections and is in the G20 high schools right up there with andover and eton. The school sends 25 percent of its students to top colleges in the US. (A few to Stanford, Princeton or Harvard but especially the connections with UChicago is great) In turkey, we have to take exams to get in High School and the last person to come to my school was 99th percentile nationally. I am saying this because of my rank. It is like the gifted school in Dallas. Enough talking about my school, here are my stats:

Had taken 2 SATs: 2400 superscore
Subject: 800 Maths
780 Literature
GPA: 90/100 Really hard examinations
Interesting classes:

Rank in the first 30 or 20 percent

Chance me please.

These are all highly selective schools, with Cornell being the easiest to get into. I think Cornell is restrictive too. Do you have backups?

Cornell is not restrictive. My backup’s are berkeley and NYU. And a few in Turkey.

Oh wait, i meant binding. sorry, my bad

Regardless, you look pretty good, it’s just a matter of luck going in your favor at this point.

Thanks, I can chance you if you post a link.

btw I have written a book for kids.

Bump?!?!?!

Wow! You have amazing test scores and great extracurriculars. I think you definitely have a pretty good chance at being accepted. I think Cornell is a match, the rest are reaches, just like they are for most applicants. I’m also applying early to Yale, you can check out my stats here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1569722-chance-me-yale-scea-pretty-please.html</a> . Good luck!

Thanks! I have chanced back!

Yale: Reach
Harvard: Reach
MIT: Reach
Dartmouth: Low Reach
Chicago: Reach
Cornell: High match

I really do suggest having some legitimate backups because NYU and Berkeley aren’t necessarily backups for anyone. If those schools in Turkey are, then by all means ignore what I have said haha.

[Please Chance Me!](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1569454-please-chance-me-will-chance-back.html)

I have chanced you back. Thanks for your answer!

Yale: low Reach
Harvard: Reach
MIT: Reach
Dartmouth: high match
Chicago: low Reach
Cornell: High match

feel free to chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1569000-chance-me-williams-calberkley-cornell-wesleyan.html?highlight=chance+williams</a></p>

I did chance you back. Thank you for the answer.

You have great extracurriculars and an SAT score. As I’m sure you know what hurts is your GPA ( a little low) and the fact that you are international. All these schools seem reasonable for you to get into but places like MIT/Harvard/Yale are reaches for everyone. Good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1569831-wesleyan-ed-chance-me-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

I chanced you back. Thanks for the answer!

Anyone else?

First, You can see my Subjects on the post, second, I did not write something about AP Geometry. Read carefully before you screw up my post.

Anyone who actually HAS an idea instead of questioning my guts?

You’re highly qualified for every single one of those schools. Your test scores and ECs are fantastic. However, thousands of highly qualified applicants (who are just as good as you) are rejected from the Ivies every year. It really is a crapshoot. Hopefully you’ll win the lottery and get in, but don’t count in it.

Thanks!! I can chance back if you post a link!
