I think you’re good at Tulane, Fordham, and the SUNYs.

Browns and UPenn are toughys for anybody. Same with Cornell, but I’ve got a good feeling about this one.

The rest I’m not too familiar with.

I had a similar essay but that was 4+ years back.

Everything sounds good, just try to find ways to add a twist to things. You can’t change what you have/haven’t done. They are looking more that unique, something that sets you apart, that they haven’t seen before. I would say Duke & Brown for sure. Good luck!!

I’d say you have great chances are everywhere other than the Ivies and near Ivy schools (Duke, Brown, etc). Ivies are a reach for everybody.

i applied EA to fordham too! you have an impressive courseload and GPA, test scores are on par (writing doesn’t really count anyways :p). Your essay sounds great, good for you and it combines your interests as well (as a proficient writer and mathematician). Your only weakness for the Ivy League is probably your extracurriclars- they’re solid for most good schools but below average for the ivies… you know how they are, the bar is set so high. ivies are a shot in the dark for everyone but i wouldn’t be surprised if you get an admit letter from Brown, i think they especially will like your essay. I think you’ll get into most of the other schools on your list, though not every one-- Duke and Williams especially are very competitive. however you have a very solid application and i wish you the best of luck :)

What’s up with the CC trolls -.-
Don’t listen to them…if you look at the mid 50% of the accepted students (in terms of scores) of any of the universities you are planning to apply to, you are above it. So as long as you made your essays “special”, you have a good chance of getting into any of the universities you listed. :)

I haven’t heard of a lot of these schools, but here are the ones that I do know.

Hi thanks for commenting on my thread! I dont know much about some of the schools you are applying to, but I do recognize Duke, Swarthmore, JHU, Cornell, UPenn, Brown, and Tulane. Of those I think there is no reason why they wouldn’t accept you. You have all the scores and class rigor I think they are looking for, and the essay, in my opinion, sounds absolutely fantastic. For someone like you who has great grades and scores, the essay will be the most important factor. It seems like a very creative essay and I see no reason why you shouldn’t be accepted to any. All of them do have around or above 15% acceptance so you should be fine. If you were applying to Harvard, Yale, or Princeton then I might be inconclusive because those are so tough to get into…

I’d say you’re a 80% for brown. Your essay sounds amazing and unique, also your SATS are good, and your high school courses show a lot of rigor.

I don’t want to jinx anything, but I think you’re in at Brown. Your only problem is that you’re a white girl hah! But honestly, you have a significantly more competitive application than mine. I wish you luck though! I hope everything turns out well! I don’t think I need to chance you on the rest haha, once you get into Brown, you don’t need to know any others.
