Final Chance Thread

Hey guys, I'm a junior at a semi-competitive school. I hope to someday become a doctor and I would like to be chanced at UChicago, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, Brown, and Cornell. I know I probably won't get in but I appreciate all your input.

School Type: Public
Location: Ohio
Race/Gender: Male
Prospective Major: Biology
Unweighted GPA: 4.0
Weighted GPA: 4.68
Class rank: 6/603

ACT: 34

SAT 2: U.S. History (800), Biology (800)

APs: US History, Gov, Biology all 5s

EC's:

My most important EC is my activist movement that I started. Since I am middle eastern, I started a movement on Facebook that denounces middle eastern dictators not respecting the rights of people. I will probably write my essay on this. I write weekly on Facebook, educating people on the happenings in the middle east. We have approximately 100,000 members.

Volunteering at local hospital (around 300hrs)
Shadowing Physicians during Summer
Microbiology research at Univ. lab during summer
Cleveland Clinic Internship this summer (9 weeks/ 40hrs per week)
Volunteering at my Church as Sunday School teacher (350hrs)
President of Church Youth Group
Founder and President of my schools Ethical Issues Club (we get together and debate ethical topics once a week)
President of Debate and Speech Club
Varsity Tennis 10-12 grades

Thannk you all so much for reading and I look forward to your input.

You have a pretty good chance at all the schools. I also like the activist movement that you started. That’s respectable.

Hey bro are you muslim?

No i’m not muslim.

Interesting.
Not that it’s important for your chances (or maybe it is) but what religion are you?

I don’t understand its relevance. Care to explain?

Really nervous guys. Pls comment.

bump it up!

idk, diversity maybe?

I’m not. what r my chances

CMON im nervous COmmmentt.

To be honest, all of those schools are coin flips- it really depends on what they need to an extent rather than what you’ve done. BUT I’m impressed at least  If I were an admissions person at those schools I’d definitely consider you extensively. The fact that you started an activist movement that has expanded to 100,000 people is AMAZING. Good job and good luck :).

lol thanks im just scared how i will prove my activist movement. Is it even considered an activist movement? I mean I just made a group on facebook and I write on it. Is that amazing?

comments??

I hate to tell you that all of your schools are pretty unpredictable. However, you have a decent chance, so good luck :)

how can i improve?

You can improve by stop posting dumb chance threads and do things that will improve your application

Just a re-cap of what Johnny said:

Question: How can I improve?
Answer: Do things that will make you improve.

Way to be helpful, Johnny.

I don’t understand why you would single me out when thousands of people are posting chance threads? Also if you don’t have anything constructive to say, please shut the **** up *****.
