Sorry that there are people like jonny who are butthurt about other people making chance threads.

The activist movement is pretty unique and cool! I think it would be verifiable if its in your name on facebook. Good luck with your apps!

Thanks, Proclivity I appreciate it.

You have great chances! Good Luck

At these schools everyone is a toss up but I think you are certainly competitive and only 3 more days!

You created a facebook group and write up on stuff you read on the news. Talk about minimal effort, who bets any school you apply to will see right through that garbage. You have a facebook group, not an activist group. Get real.

Your Facebook involvement is impressive. I would suggest you to deepen your involvement in this regard by doing practical things rather than just sitting at home and update the status.

Organize awareness programs, involve political leaders, lobby the government, involve media, see if there is any award for community contribution where you can apply. Use your creativity. Show passion to change the world and depth. Write touchy essays. Involve a lot of efforts in your essays.

Hope this helps.

EXACTLY! Thannk you so much Johnny and Harisheena. Thats what I was nervous about. I didnt really do much. All i do is anaylze what is happening in the news and put it into easy to understand terms. I want to do more but Im not sure how to approach the subject. It is alot harder to "organize awareness programs, involve political leaders, and lobby the government then it is to say. How would I go about doing such things?

You want admission? You have to figure it out how to go through those stuffs which I listed. If I tell you everything, what will you do?

But I will help with one.

Lobbying the government - Write letters to political leaders, local and federal organisations to change some of the existing policies you don’t concur with. It may happen that they like your idea (even though it might be not be practically feasible) and reply you with appropriate explanation. This is how political connections are developed. Who knows you might end up getting recommendations from them and land yourself at Harvard?

If you have the hunger to reach there, ways will come out. No matter what.

Dude, I’m so inspired! I’m gonna do that. Give me one more tip? PLeaseeeeee!

Figure it out yourself.

and I am sure you will.

I doubt it. It’s not feasible. You can’t just organize mass events and movements as a high school kid. It’s impractical.

Not as much as you think.

There is no doubt that you have the most solid grades and have put significant time into all that stuff like researching your field of endeavor, giving back to the community, etc. However, in reading your profile, I feel that you are a bit serious and don’t have any fun or “off topic” interests like music, drama, roller skating, synchronized swimming, making miniature battle scenes of the Crimean War, or something fun.
If I was reading your profile, something interesting like that, in addition to all the other things you bring to the table would say to me that this is someone worth meeting.

Varsity Tennis is fun? :)
