colleges:

Indiana U-Bloomington
U Illinois Urbana-Champaign
James Madison U
U Wisconsin-Madison
Ohio State U
U of Washington
U Minn. Twin Cities
U Mich. Ann Arbor
UNC Chapel Hill

That's it. So chances, please?

are u insane? ur ivy quality…u of i? seriously?? (unless ur considering engineering)…aim for higher schools…ur a frickin genius =)

Seriously, why no Ivy schools? Aren’t you interested in even seeing if you can get in, because I think you have a better chance than many that I see on here.

I think that “farm” experience could work in your favor too.

haha i lolled at the responses. I don’t think I’d be a good fit at the ivies. I’m looking for like a bigger place where there are more opportunities and is more going on.

I was thinking about applying to Stanford, but my guidance counselor reccomended me not to.

Idk. I like big state schools.

Ok, how do you not know your chances at those schools?

The fact that you are from a farm in North Dakota helps. However, really apply to some private schools. I know UW has drastically cut the number of out-of-staters, especially if they are from nearby, which North Dakota kind of is. So, thereoetically, you are in at all these colleges, but…yeah.
Have you thought of NYU or the UCs?

[Chance pweez?](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/738434-chance-suggest-average-student-ill-chance-back.html)

You must be Ivy League substance. give it a try! (just to see…)

good luck/good skill on the SAT. bring me back some milk. :P

LEMON

I actually thought Washington, Michigan and UNC would be labeled as reaches. And Washington/UIUC/JMU all do a really bad job describing what it takes to get accepted.

dude you are in all those school, no sweat

Nobody is ever definitely in at UNC and U Michigan. So those two are matches while you are in at all the others. I second what every one else says, you definitely have a shot at just about every school in the country.

In at all except UMich and UNC which are low reaches. Being from South Dakota should help.

Apply to UVA!

Since others have encouraged you to consider private schools, I’ll take a different tack. Are you familiar with the Western Undergraduate Tuition Exchange? As a resident of North Dakota, you can attend public universities and colleges in 15 other western states for 150% of in-state tuition. If money is an issue for you, this is a good way to go. Here’s a link to their website:
[WICHE - Student Exchange Programs](http://wue.wiche.edu/)

You are definitely in at all of these schools. If you like larger state school, may i suggest you apply to UT Austin? Apply to Stanford – you have a decent chance. I am not sure why your counsellor suggested you don’t apply there. UNC-CH, UW-Madison, UMich, etc are as good as Ivies and Stanford – maybe that explains counsellor’s reasoning.

Chance me back if you can …
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735576-please-chance-me-wash-u-williams-rice-davidson-vandy-emory.html</a></p>

Umm, UNC, UW and UMich are not as good as Ivies.
But, anyway, you are in at every school on your list. The only one that you might possibly not be in at is UNC because its so hard out of state, but you’re probably in there too. Make some reach schools! There is a reason why ivies are so competitive; they are generally the best.

good luck!

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/738548-chances-top-state-schools-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

If you want a big school, why not try applying to Columbia? 22,000 students, in the country’s biggest city? If you want to apply to an Ivy, try that one. also, how can your weighted GPA be so close to your UW GPA if you took so many AP classes? I guess you could have gotten a bunch of B’s or lower, but that wouldnt explain your top 3% rank

After all the “you should be looking at more prestigious schools” comments, I finally gave in and gave a few a look.

I really like USC. (socal)

Would I have a good shot there?

Wow, you have a great chance at everywhere

Indiana U-Bloomington - in
U Illinois Urbana-Champaign - match
James Madison U - in
U Wisconsin-Madison - in
Ohio State U - in
U of Washington - in
U Minn. Twin Cities -in
U Mich. Ann Arbor - match
UNC Chapel Hill - match, Maybe a high match, but probably a match

Also, USC is a match. Great chance there.

You should get some reaches.

Chance back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/748339-chances-top-schools-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

wow you’re really a special case who have all it takes to get in to super competitive schools but would rather not to  … cool! i’m sort of curious, about what you’re gonna major in.
by the way i like your attitude  , you seem to have a certain but moderate idea about what you really want.

^ yeah, I’m not really sure about what to major in. And seriously, there’s no point in knowing when you’re 17. I prefer to look at the big picture spectrum of things rather than to focus on the details, so that kinda takes science/math majors out of the options. It’ll probably be along the lines of journalism/music production/etc.

I hope OSU is a joke with those stats!
I agree with everyone else, use these schools as safeties and apply to better schools!
Chapel Hill and Michigan would be good for you though.
I agree with the suggestion of Columbia.
