Final chances thread...because I'm bored and have nothing better to do today

I live in NY, no URM/ORM of any sort to my knowledge...

GPA: 3.7/4.0 UW (don't know yet, but here a 97 - 100 is a 4.0 and a 93 - 96 is a 3.7...go figure) and although my school doesn't dish out ranks (or at least they haven't done so for us yet), I am probably ranked 1 out of 140.

SAT I: Math - 800, Writing - 780 (72/12), CR - 770

SAT II: Chemistry (790), Physics (800/didn't take any course for intro physics), Math 2 (800), USH (770)

AP English Language - 4
AP Environmental Science (self study) - 4 (I don't know or wanna know why)
AP Computer Science AB (self study) - 4 (see above explanation)

AP Human Geography (self-study perhaps)
Organic Chemistry (local community college)
Real/Complex Analysis (Distance Ed.)

ECs:
Sports: XC, Spring track - I completely phailed this year in both activities, so I doubt there's a chance for any type of hook attached to doing these sports from 10th to the present

Science Research: 200 hours last summer in the Science Research Training Program - My project involved cloning a membrane protein in a tick-transmitted parasite known as Babesia divergens. I'm doing another 350 hours or so this summer at the NYMC, it's about understanding scoliosis through rat models.

Clubs:
Math team - president (9-12)
Academic team - president (10-12)

Community Service:
Spanish Tutor - 10, 11, 12
Math Tutor - 11, 12

Awards/Competitions:
2006, 2007 AIME qualifier and AMC 12 winner (Yeah, I had to bring the AMC competitions to our school in 2006 since we're so isolated)
2006, 2007 NYSML qualifier
2007 USNCO semi-finalist (2nd in section, 1st in county on local exacm)
2006 AP Scholar with Honor
2007 AP National Scholar
2007 Harvard Book Award (yeah...not great at all but w/e)
2007 National Merit Semifinalist expected (230 PSAT)

Miscellaneous: Ever since I got into writing fanfiction over the winter, I've become more and more keen on writing a book...which I'm currently doing right now. I don't expect to finish it until the end of summer, and I don't expect to get it published before the end of the year, if at all, but it's something I have been dedicating alot of time into.

Well, sorry that's so long, but here's my limited list of hopefuls:

MIT (EA)
Princeton
Columbia
Harvard
Johns Hopkins (maybe)
Georgetown

Flame me for making this thread, if you wish, I'm not in the mood to argue with you if I'm "in the wrong" =/

In everywhere.

lol come on dude, don't be an a$$ (if that was your goal)...I sprained my knee yesterday and cant do anything fun for at least two weeks :(

I was serious..

Oh ok, my fault then.

MIT (EA) REACH
Princeton REACH
Columbia LOW REACH
Harvard REACH
Johns Hopkins (maybe) MATCH
Georgetown MATCH

I think that because you were only a semi-finalist in the USNCO, that you probably won't get in anywhere. Sorry. You probably should have worked harder on becoming a finalist.

^LOL!!! Shravas that made my day.

You will be rejected everywhere........get some safties.

well I cant beat that logic

You took Mult. Calculus/Diff. Equations/ and linear algebra all at once?? Don't they all like build on each other or something. Like i thought Mult. Calc. and Lin. alg. were prereqs for diff. equations?

You're in the running with your stats, now luck takes over.

No, I tried that, but I decided to just do MVC then diff eq then La, Im on diff eq right now.

u give me hope

5 months are enough to do MVC/Diff. e/ and LA?? Dang! Where are u taking the courses?

online...through Johns Hopkins Distance Ed lol

damn, u got a lot of math under ur belt after this summer. u better make westchester-putnam a team for nysml so we can kick some serious nyc a**. i hope u realize who i am haha.

good chances everywhere

just curious, score on AIME?

Albert: A-men to that, haha.

well, in 2006 I brought AMC to my phailure excuse for a school...so I got obliterated on the AIME (no idea what i got, never found out)...next year I choked on teh AMC 12 and barely scraped through with a 100.5...pretty sure I got 4 or 5 on the AIME this past year...Ill have to look it up though.

So no USAMO for me = not a great math problem solver...yet (lol yeah surely that's it...)

Well since these forums are active now I might as well bump for kicks =/
