-I'm one of the "better" pianists of CA, if u do the MTAC Convention stuff I made Panel Honors, which is only awarded to 33 people statewide (150+ppl try for it i think).
i've also placed in a bunch of other competitions before; so mostly my app focuses on music. i guess im tryina "sell" myself as a musician..
(I'm also submitting a recording to the upper-tier UCs and the private schools i'm applying to)
-i volunteer at a nursing home, and i give hourly solo piano performances twice a month..hopefully this is an "unique" extracirricular.
-i've volunteered at a museum (Tech Museum of Innov.) for a year or so..exhibit explainer for the most part, i suppose. in essays, i made it sound like i gained a love for science from volunteering (it did actually)
-ive been an assistant basketball coach for a year (9th)</p>
<p>Clubs:
CSF-2 years
FBLA-4 years; placed in State Leadership Conf. before</p>
<p>Essays: Mostly they focus on how I learned from piano about how success can be achieved: through hard work etc. and how i had a sudden realization of how i needed to work just as hard to achieve in school (hence the upward trend). For some schools, I wrote about a chemistry class which taught me "Study to learn, not for a grade."</p>
