Im in JSA and I took the hardest available social sciences and language arts classes

update: Apparently , I can tell the future cause I got a 1800 exactly on the SAT (1230 CR+M)they only count CR+M right?

Your GPA is a pretty low for UGA, but your SATs are good (I never took the ACT so I don’t know how to critique that) and you have a rigorous schedule. Depending on your other attributes, I think you might have a chance if everything else makes up for your low GPA. But not gonna lie, your GPA might kill you.

uhh i know, i wish id tried harder, i stressed my leadership and diversity in my essays i hope that makes up for it

how would u rate my chances?

Unfortunately, GPA is the biggest factor in determining one’s chances for admission (at least at UGA). As I am sure you know, only 25% of enrolled students had GPAs less than 3.68; a 3.25 is quite a bit below that. Is the 3.25 weighted or unweighted? I assume you understand UGA’s weighting system. You certainly have challenged yourself in terms of your course load, but I doubt if this will “seal the deal.” If you had a very high SAT/ACT to offset your low GPA, you might be accepted. With a little over a 1200 and a 3.25, your chances are low. Maybe 10-20%

Don’t they consider Ec’s and essays for admissions?

not as much as GPA and test scores.

ilyssa1257 is correct. Extracurricular activities and essays DO help, but they help when applicants are on the edge. I think that 3.25 is still pretty low, even to be “on the edge.” Do apply, though. You never know the outcome unless you apply. Good luck!

Not to give myself false hope but it seems like UGA has gotten easier to get into this year.

I know a person who got a 1700 on the SAT and a 3.8 GPA who got accepted, and couple of other people who have similar stats who got accepted, last year I knew a couple of people with better stats who got deferred. I know this isnt substantial evidence but just leaving it out there.

your chances are alright but hopefully your essay stands out
good luck:)

chances are pretty low, although you’re not too low. don’t lose hope.
be sure to write a well-written essay. don’t be trite!
they DO read essays quite thoroughly and respect essays a lot more than numbers.
good luck!!
