Having your weighted GPA would help out a lot. Also, my chances for you may not be the most accurate for the east coast schools but I live in California and we have a bunch of people at my schools that make these top Cal schools so the chances for school in Cali should be pretty legit.
Rice-Low reach
Tufts-not sure
U of Pitts-not sure
Northwestern-low reach
USC- high match
UCLA-match (know quite a bit of people with less that made it for engineering)
UCSD-low match (many people with your stats and less than you make it)
UCB- high match
Stanford-mid-high reach

No offense but your ec’s could improve. The tutoring program is nice but if you started your own (and even make it a nonprofit) that’d be great. Since you’re applying out of state for UC’s it should be easier for you. Basically, the people I know from my school (which was pretty competitive) with 4.3 weighted+ made UCB and UCLA. 4.2+ should be find with UCSD. You can definitely contend for USC but Stanford is pretty much a reach. I don’t know if this is true for out of state kids, but keep in mind that UC admissions are very inconsistent. For example, one person I know made UCSD for engineering and got rejected to every other UC (even the really easy ones!) And every single year the UC’s reject a bunch of qualified kids and take some under qualified kids. Since you’re out of state, you should probably have an easier time for UC’s. Overall, you should be fine.

Chance me back please!

Pitt safety
Tufts- low reach
Stanford REA- high reach
USC- high match
Northwestern- low to mid reach (ED will significantly boost chances if you do not go REA to Stanford)
Rice- low reach
Need UC GPA for UC’s, they offer minimal need aid to OOS

Around a 4.3 UC GPA

Stanford (REA): high reach
UC - Berkeley, Los Angeles, San Diego: low reach, match, low match
Rice: low reach
Northwestern: mid reach
Tufts: low reach
University of Pittsburgh: match

ECs are decent but not super interesting. Scores are solid but not for Stanford. Great SAT II’s. Consider EDing to Northwestern. It has a pretty high ED acceptance rate and I think you’d have a great chance.

Good luck!

As long as you don’t screw up the essays, you will make all the UCs and Rice/Northwestern/USC.

How important is Stanford to you? I honestly think you have a less than 15% chance of getting admitted REA, and it would be a waste of your early opportunity to apply there. Try a college you like ranked between 10-20 on US News for the early round.

UC’s will all be full pay; can you afford $55K per year?

Stanford a dream school, although I know chances are EXTREMELY slim so I essentially have it in my mind that it isn’t happening. I originally planned on applying ED to Rice but decided against it since I’m not 100% in love with the school and would like to be able to review my options. I’m hesitant to apply anywhere ED, so I thought ‘why not?’ at Stanford REA. Starting to actually consider Northwestern ED. Any advice?

UC prices aren’t what I’m concerned about. It’s very unlikely I’ll be able to pay for them but my dad is telling me to get in first before thinking about cost.
