Final Decision

So, it's finally April, which for me (and many others) is the time to make the final decision for college. I'm a prospective engineering major in either Computer Science or Industrial Engineering, and these are the final few schools that I've narrowed it down to:

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
UC-Berkeley (Engineering-EECS)
Georgia Tech (Engineering + Honors Program)
UCLA

Out of those, I think my top two right now are UC Berkeley and Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech costs about 40k, while Berkeley is about 56k, so there is a 16k difference, but my parents can afford both for all 4 years, so I'd need no loans wherever I go. The thing is, would the 16k (64k over 4 years!) extra be worth it for Berkeley? I'm OOS in both places anyway (I'm from NY).

They are both far away from home (I'm in NY), but I like Berkeley's area more than I like Atlanta. I will be visiting both campuses during this month, but as of now, Silicone Valley > Atlanta.

The thing is this: I'm interested in a lot of different things, and I'm not entirely set on Engineering. I like Physics, Economics, and Philosophy, among other things, and I'm also kind of interested in Business. In that regard, Berkeley would be a lot better, but I don't know if tentative interests are worth me traveling across the country.

I also have family legacy at GaTech, for better or worse: my father and several cousins graduated from Tech, so it's like a tradition to go there. That's not too big of a deal though.

I also got into the Honors Program at Tech, but I don't think that makes too much of a difference in my decision.

Are there any other things I should be looking at in my decision? And, in my position, what makes more sense for me?

Opinions anyone?

What’s wrong with the bargain in your back yard?

Stony Brook is very well respected for CS.

Or is industrial engineering your main interest, and Stony Brook’s applied math major is not a sufficient substitute?
